Action/Adventure Theatre is proud to announce the return of INSPIRED BY..., a one-of-a kind variety show that invites writers, visual artists, and performers to create brand-new work inspired by their fellow Portland artists.
This year, we’re thrilled to showcase the work of Chelsea Cain, Alexis Smith, Portland Playhouse, Live Wire!, Tears of Joy Theatre, and more!
Inspired By… serves as a fundraiser for Action/Adventure Theatre. All proceeds will go to support our next season of hyper-local new work, which has been described by critics as “theater at its choicest” and “What small theater is supposed to be: meritocratic, accessible, adventurous and tireless.”

How
Much: $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
Here’s how it works: Action/Adventure asked some of our favorite writers to submit short pieces based on the prompt “The Wrong Side of the Tracks.” We assigned the results to some of the best performance groups and visual artists in the city, who created original work inspired by the written pieces. And on May 24, we’ll showcase it all at a one-night-only event that’s equal parts performance, party, reading, and art show.
